Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj to Perform ‘Side to Side’ at 2016 MTV VMAs
Slay! MTV announced on Wednesday, August 24, that Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj are scheduled to perform at the 2016 MTV VMAs on Sunday, August 28.
The stars are set to perform “Side to Side” off Grande’s third studio album Dangerous Woman.
Minaj and Grande join previously announced performers Future, Rihanna, and Nick Jonas. VMA icon Britney Spears is also scheduled to hit the stage nine years since her 2007 performance. The pop princess will perform her smash hit “Make Me…” featuring G-Eazy.
According to the press release, comedians Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele will present social media influencers @TheShamester and @LizardSheeple, who will provide commentary throughout the show along with correspondents Jay Pharoah, Nicole Byer and DJ Khaled.
Diddy, Alicia Keys, Ansel Elgort, Bebe Rexha, Fifth Harmony, Jaden Smith, Kim Kardashian West, Rita Ora, Shameik Moore and Tove Lo will also be presenting throughout the awards show, which will be held at New York City’s Madison Square Garden.
Beyoncé and Adele lead the nominations and are both up for Video of the Year.
