1. He was born in West Philadelphia, to refrigeration engineer Willard Carroll Smith, Sr. and Philadelphia school board administrator Caroline Bright.

2. He once stated that in his whole career, he most regrets turning down the part of Neo in The Matrix and the film that he most regrets making was Wild Wild West.

3. The actor and his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, founded a private elementary school in Calabasas, California (a city on the outskirts of Los Angeles), named the New Village Leadership Academy. No doubt he's teaching them a few tricks of his own!
